| What is an Ambiator?
|
It is a low-cost
and low-energy intensive alternative to conventional
air conditioning, and works on the principle of
two-stage evaporative cooling.
The Ambiator is
applicable anywhere there is a need for clean, fresh
and cool air - offices, hospitals, factories, cinema
halls, floriculture, control rooms, DG sheds,
compressor rooms, hotels etc.

| Ambiator can be used for
|
Comfort conditioning of
offices
Industrial ventilation &
cooling
Dust-free cool production
centres
Pre-cooling of inlet air for
gas turbines, compressors
& DG sets
|
| Has the Ambiator been certified?
|
The Ambiator is certified by the
Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI), as part of the
Indo-German Energy Efficiency project.
This
programme is to promote cost-effective energy saving
retrofits and products based on new innovations,
technologies and ideas.

| Testimonial |
Wipro, one of
very first customers, had this to say on an early
project...
"As promised by the company, the
Ambiators have provided a comfortable working
environment.
Further, the Ambiators are energy
saving equipments as they consume less than 11 units
per hour for this area. Their service is good"

SRF gets nod
to produce carbon credits
The industrial
chemicals group SRF Ltd., expects revenues from carbon
credits to flow in from Q1FY06.
The upper
limit for the production of carbon credits would be
$3.8 million for the company. Most of the revenues
will flow directly to the operating profits.

Dear
friend,
Heard of COOL BIZ?
Well, it's an
initiative of the Japanese government to remind Japan's
office goers to avoid stuffy clothing. The diktat:
Set office airconditioners to 28 degrees, and refrain from
overcooling.
The larger objective is to save energy
and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions to meet Japan's
obligations for the Kyoto Protocol on global warming.
Between June 1 and Sept. 30, employees are
encouraged to work without neckties and jackets. Their
removal would result in a 2-degree reduction in the heat
felt by the body. Hence, air conditioner usage is reduced
and therefore lesser greenhouse effects. Voila!
Enjoy the issue. The articles throw light on how 28
degrees is a cool enough temperature for an office
environment.
Warmly, Vaidyanathan

Cool Biz @ 28
degrees. A business statement
 A
corporate movement has begun... |
The Cool Biz initiative makes
sound business sense. Most office
air-conditioners are set at 23 24 degrees, which
is rather cold for comfort.
At 28
degrees, an employee without coat or a necktie
looks and feels cool. And the air-conditioner
consumes much lesser power. And saves money.

Cool
Biz @ 28 degrees. An eco-statement
 Premier
Koizumi showing off |
How will Cool Biz help the Earth?
Among the greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide
emissions from offices are growing rapidly. For
Japan, it is a nationwide movement in the fight
against global warming.
By raising the
office temperature to 28 degrees, carbon dioxide
emissions are reduced by 1.6 million - 1.9
million tons per year.

Cool Biz @
28 degrees. A fashion statement
 Environment
Minister Yuriko Koike explains...
|
One June 5, Japan's environment
ministry organized a fashion show extolling the
virtues of not wearing the neckties and stuffy
suits.
Noted business leaders such as
Toyota Motor Corp. Chairman Hiroshi Okuda and
others walked the ramp in trendy and lighter
attires.
|
Now the
clincher... Why does one need an
air-conditioner for 28 degrees cooling?
The
Ambiator gives a comfortable environment of 28
degrees or lower, with 100% fresh air for less than
40% of the running cost of an AC!
Just
think of the enormous savings possible!

How an engineering MNC saved Rs. 9 lakhs
annually
Client: The
west India-based production unit of a leading MNC, a
renowned company in the world.
Challenge: To provide a dust-free and
cool environment for a production hangar in which precision
engineering components are manufactured.
Solution: While conventional
air-conditioning technology would have consumed 45
units per hour of power, Sumaya HMX's Ambiator-based
technology promised the same results at 23 units per
hour.
Eventually, the actual power consumed was
only 13 units per hour. The client could save a whopping Rs.
9 lakhs per year!
The relationship with this
client has subsequently grown to cover the entire production
hanger, with a total space area of 100,000 sq ft, and a need
of 600,000 CFM of Ambiator-based cooling. As regards the
savings, it is expected to be in terms of several lakhs.

What is a Sick
Building Syndrome?
|
 |
"Sick Building Syndrome"
exemplifies the result of continuously re-circulating the
air inside the building.
The old saying that you can
get sick in a hospital is true. The same air permeates the
entire building and is shared by all who breathe it.
| The Sick Building Syndrome can be
overcome through two-stage evaporative cooling, the technology
that Ambiator uses. It is 100% fresh air-cooling, which means that
all the air being cooled is brought in from outside.
